I think that as a teacher I will use data collection in upperclassmen, high school classes. I think gathering surveys and data for this age group is important because they would be able to fill out surveys well. And since I want to be an English teacher, I think a good reason to do a survey is to gauge how a student is feeling about a workload. At this age, an 11th grader may be reading some lengthy texts and novels, and the work could possibly be daunting. Gathering that information could be helpful for future classes and what you can improve.  I think I found that a lot of people really care about the work that they want to do as future teachers. I have found that many students think alike and like me, but we also have different opinions at the same time. That is the beauty of teaching, we all have unique thought processes and so students will get different learning experiences. They aren't better or worse, they are just different.  I have not seen this form of teaching before i

1.) What I like about distance learning is that I can go at my own pace. Although, it is harder to receive good and thorough instruction from an email rather than hearing it from the professor in person. Not that the instructions we receive are bad, it is just different when you hear them directly. When I am a teacher, I will do my best to start as connected with my students as possible by setting up office hours online and giving videos with instruction so that my students can hear my voice and see my actions.  2.) Open Educational Resources are tools that any teacher can share and use. People contribute to different websites and allow others to remix or build off of what they have created. The property rights allow everyone to use them free of any charge. The link below is an article talking about OERs and giving the reader a good summary of what they are.  https://theihs.org/blog/open-educational-classroom-resources/?gclid=CjwKCAjwloCSBhAeEiwA3hVo_fG1Fq3kQWaMQaccD0ryen6ISn_9mGO8dCF

My initial experience with Diigo is that it is a great way to keep your annotations organized. It is a proficient way to make comments on other people's work as well. This is useful to me because I have to do a lot of annotations for my other classes. I like that I can save articles to Diigo, and it makes web browsing a lot easier and more reliable. I also like that I have control over how much information I can share with other people.   The thing I like about blogging is that it helps me process what I have been learning. It also gives me room to process the questions that are asked and study the topics I read about in the past week. What I have learned about the blogging process is that knowing that you are going to publish something makes you think a little bit more about what you are writing. I guess the thing I may not like about blogging too much is that I think we could do this over a discussion board. But I understand that it is a way to be exposed to other software that w

1.)  LAFS.1112.W.3.8 - This standard is asking teachers to incorporate technologies as a way to access sources and use the proper method of citation to enhance the student's work by either supporting their claim or refuting it. I feel prepared to implement this because it is something that I have to do and I have experienced this. I think that technology is becoming more and more prevalent in secondary school and students will have to learn how to implement sources from technology into their work eventually   2.)  LAFS.1112.RL.1.2 - I would use this in my classroom because the standard states that the students would be determining between multiple texts their development and how they complement each other. I think this is a useful skill because multiple texts reference each other, and to know the allusions of a piece of work is important to know the meaning of the text that you are reading. I would use this in the classroom by using two texts that the class read before and having t

1.) The words copyright and fair use can mean many different things to many different people. To creators, it means using certain songs or antics in their videos or blog posts, or whatever it may be, and having to get permission to use them. For academics, it means not stealing other people's work. In all cases, laws and regulations about copyright and fair use have to do with preserving the originality of people's work.  2.) In this day in age, I would say that academic dishonest has become somewhat of a fad or "thing to do", and has become less and less serious. As technology progresses, it has become harder and harder for teachers and professors to keep track of academic dishonesty. It is also a tricky situation with student privacy. How would one be able to monitor a student if they are working in their home? Students are also entitled to privacy rights that may interfere with the monitoring of their online activity during school.  3.) Through the newsletter desig
